Who we are

clinicalindications.co.uk promotes the use of clinical indications on prescriptions. It is run by Dr Nigel Masters, who is responsible for any personal information the site handles. To ask about your information, please use the form on our Contact page.

What this website collects

This site sells nothing and shows no advertising. It collects personal information through the contact form and, only if you agree, Google Analytics. It also keeps simple visit counts, described below.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, the details you choose to give (such as your name, email address, phone number, address and message) are emailed to Dr Masters and kept in the website’s database so your enquiry can be answered. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in replying to you. Ask us at any time to delete your message.

Cookies and Google Analytics

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Only if you accept do we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages visited, approximate location, and the type of device and browser. If you decline, Google Analytics does not run. You can change your choice at any time from the banner.

The site also sets a cookie to remember your choice.

Visit counts

We count visits with WP Statistics, which runs on our own server and sets no cookies. Internet (IP) addresses are anonymised before anything is stored, and the records are deleted after a year.

Security

Our security software (Wordfence) records internet (IP) addresses and the pages requested, to protect the site from attack. These records are kept for a short time and used only for security.

Where your information is held

The website is hosted by Cloudways on a DigitalOcean server in London, United Kingdom. Emails from the contact form are sent through our email delivery service.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the way the site handles information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
